I have just submitted to my PhD committee my dissertation’s critical introduction, a long essay about anxiety, influence, and craft, starting in the 18th century and ending with Jonathan Franzen. I can barely believe both the essay and the novel are completed.
Unless I have forgotten something, barring the paperwork and the defence, my PhD is done. There is no more writing or reading required.
Wow… Thank you to everyone who offered encouragement and support along the way!
