  • So, this is where we should post our prompt responses?
On the exercise for flow, starting with ‘Above all he wanted [ ]’ and in five sentences, I have the below:

Above all he wanted his wife to be happy. Except that Jake knew Belinda could never be satisfied, could never be content. Her all-consuming need to devour, collect, possess … it drove her to continuously want stuff —big or small wherever she perceived value. Jake had no such compunctions himself, he was born rich unlike his wife. Yet from the way he was dressed most days you’d think he was a pauper.

  • Here’s my go at a second prompt from Daniel: A little obsessed [writing style] —

The ‘bomoh’ had to be late. Feared, reviled and respected all in the same breath, your traditional medicine man wouldn’t be best known for time-management. Albeit scarcer, female practitioners also exist—secrets of the trade tending to be handed down like family heirlooms. For aid in matters of the heart, fuelling the fires of green-eyed monsters, with some prepared to help even with the unsavoury … there’s a bomoh for everyone if you only know where to look. And like any doctor, for the bomoh customarily working from home, house calls were reserved for special cases.
